St. Michael's Karate Club
Christopher started training in 2001 at the age of nine years. He passed his first grading in February 2002 where he was awarded red belt. During the next few years he graded steadily, working his way through the grades, eventually gaining his junior brown belt in November 2006, he remained at this grade until June 2009.
Due to reaching his sixteenth birthday he had to move up to the senior syallbus so had to retrain and improve his karate at senior level. He trained hard for this for a year and made the transition very well, developing his skills and knowledge in all aspects of karate.
In June 2009 Christopher attempted his first senior grading and was hoping to retain his current grade of brown belt+2 tabs but as a senior this would mean, in fact, the grade of 2nd kyu. He performed excellently and not only passed but was promoted to the rank of 1st kyu.
Another year of training and in June 2010 Christopher graded again and was awarded the rank of Shodan-ho (black belt) by Kobe Osaka International President and Chief Instructor Shihan Tommy Morris 8th Dan.
In July 2010 he passed his EFAW course in basic first aid and incident managment.
In June 2013 he was awarded the rank of Shodan (1st Dan).
